about bk2la
The Studio's Story
BK2LA Studio is the creative home of DJ Dunna—a multi-disciplinary musician, visual artist, designer, and creative director.
Founded in 2015 in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, the studio began as a central hub for Dunna’s curated mixes, music, photography, and graphic design. Over the last decade, it has evolved into a full-scale creative umbrella spanning design, branding, advertising, social media strategy, music production, and live DJ curation.
The Legacy Behind the Name
The studio’s name carries a legacy that stretches back to 2010. Shortly after graduating from the Pratt Institute, Dunna launched his first clothing line, Calico Heroes, under the motto "From Brooklyn to Los Angeles"—abbreviated as BK2LA.
Years later, while searching for a moniker to unify his emerging music and design projects, the answer was already staring at him from the walls of his workspace. In that moment of clarity, the studio found its permanent identity.
A Decade of Evolution
In 2025, BK2LA Studio celebrated its 10-year anniversary marked by the release of Dunna's first remix EP. Today, the studio is launching an all-new web experience featuring exclusive, custom merchandise inspired by archival cover designs.
With new music on the horizon, BK2LA Studio continues to charge ahead—not just as a dynamic design house, but as a fully realized DJ, producer, and one-man band.
